Help
Install it, open a video and set the time of your insert.
Getting started
- Open the DMG and drag HonorPlayer to Applications.
- Open it, then open a video with ⌘O, drop it on the window, or use Finder’s Open With.
- Open Settings with ⌘, and add the time of your first insert.
The start screen
- With no video open, the hot keys are listed at the left.
- Under «Open file» are the last three videos you opened; «Previous» holds five more. Click one to open it again.
- The name «HonorPlayer» at the bottom right, with the version, opens this site.
The menu on the right button
- Press the right mouse button anywhere in the window.
- With a video open it has play and pause, back to the start, 5 seconds back and forward, sound, full screen, 100% size and, while an insert plays, skipping it.
- Always there: Open file…, Settings… and Quit; with a video open, Close video too.
Add an insert
- In Settings, add an insert.
- Type its time in three parts, hours, minutes and seconds. Only digits go in (hours up to 23, minutes and seconds up to 59), and Tab moves from one part to the next.
- Choose the built-in minute of silence or a video file of your own.
- Leave the insert switched on.
When the main video is paused
- In Settings choose whether the insert is shown or skipped when it is due while the main video is paused or none is open.
Keys
- Space: play and pause.
- ← and →: seek 5 s (with ⇧ or ⌥, 30 s).
- ↑ and ↓: volume. M: mute. F: full screen, Esc leaves it.
- ⌘O: open a video. ⌘W: close the video and return to the start screen. ⌘,: settings.
Updates
- HonorPlayer looks for a new version when it starts and every few hours, and tells you when there is one. Nothing is shown or installed while an insert plays or is about to.
- Download it from the window that appears; it is put in place when you quit. The check can be switched off in Settings.
