Cookies and counting visits

Counting visits. We count visits with Umami, which we run ourselves and load from stats.honorplayer.app. It sets no cookies. It honours your browser’s Do Not Track setting: with it on, nothing is counted.

Our server also counts downloads of the installer and of app updates in the same Umami. For each it sends the event (installer or update, macOS or Windows) and the version, and nothing about you: not your address and not your browser. It sets no cookies, and it does not depend on your choice in the notice, because nothing about you is in it.

If you visit from the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, or your country is not known, counting starts only after you press Accept in the notice at the bottom of the page; Reject keeps it off. Visitors from other countries are counted without the notice.

The site sets these cookies:

  • honorplayer_consent remembers your answer, Accept or Reject, with a random id. It is kept for 180 days.
  • visitor_country holds the two-letter code of your country. It is set before you answer, kept for 1 day, or 5 minutes when your country is not known, and used only to decide whether to show the notice.
  • honorplayer_lang remembers the language you chose with the language menu. It is kept for one year.

Your choice is not logged on a server: it lives in the cookie in your browser, and we keep no list of who accepted or rejected.

You can change your answer at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page, or by adding ?cookies=1 to the address.
